The latest work by artist, Sever, entitled the Death of Street Art, depicts as much, with a casket being carried by a bunch of suited-up characters representing artists, Shepard Fairey, Futura, KAWS, Barry McGee, Twist, Banksy and Os Gemeos. The piece is a strong statement on corporate interest in the street art world; a notion that – love it or loathe it – is only going to intensify. The work has gone up in Detroit which is currently seeing a revitalization under the hands of some of the world’s top graffiti writers as part of the Detroit Beautification Project. (via 12ozProphet)
