A veritable dream come true for BAPE fans, NOWHERE and A Bathing Ape have opened “BAPELAND”, an exhibition held in NIGO’s former home and studio in Tokyo that celebrates the brand’s 20-year anniversary. The space serves as a fitting home for the most conclusive documentation of BAPE’s history to date, showcasing some of the most unique one-offs, collaborations and spectacular customisations to be dreamt up during NIGO’s reign there. Including everything from a Mercedes SL done up in the brand’s signature 1st Camo to collectable vintage paraphernalia, clothing and branded doughnuts, BAPELAND is the definitive archive for anyone who recognises the influence NIGO and BAPE have had on global street wear and its associated culture over the past two decades.
