Coinciding with the London Olympics 2012 and their “Move to the Beat” campaign, Coca-Cola is constructing this massive structure they call the Beat Box. Each panel from the Beat Box is made of a plastic polymer that functions as a giant drum skin. Designed by Pernilla & Asif, the brief from Coca-Cola stated “create a design which could visually convey the energy of sport, music, and youth.” Drawing inspiration from Mark Ronson’s “Anywhere in the World” anthem in which he traveled to record the sounds of athletes for the song, it is meant to be a 200-meter journey ending at rooftop view of the Olympic Park.
