Sixteen-year-old Paul Vermeesch has really gone deep with his LEGO Star Wars collection, completing what is really quite an amazing bit of LEGO engineering: Recreating M.C. Escher’s “Relativity” in a one-by-one-foot block model. The build, which took its creator six months and somewhere between 2,000 to 3,000 bricks to construct was the result of some clever thinking – Vermeesch believed (and proved) it was one of the few works by Escher that could actually be built. There’s more to this model though – the finished construct is made up of key scenes from the original Star Wars trilogy. And to finish it off there’s even a miniature scale theater in the back that has an iPod Touch screen that plays clips from the LEGO Star Wars video games. Sweet. (via Freshness)
