Following two months of labour, Damien Hirst and his studio assistants have crafted a new work by affixing variously sized stainless steel scalpel blades onto a circular black canvas. The construction of Destruction Dreamscape, a piece that is reminiscent of the artist’s Kaleidoscope paintings, was captured in a short time-lapse film that shows the assistants at work, layering the blades and covering the space between with coloured gloss paint. You can view the video on Damien Hirst’s website.
