To celebrate the London Design Festival this September, London-based food and culture journal The Gourmand has taken up residency at KK Outlet on Hoxton Square, curating a series of exhibitions, talks, and dinners that celebrate food as a catalyst for creativity. Kicking things off with its opening on Wednesday night, Awake and at Home is a photography exhibition of views from kitchen windows around the world – inspired by a photograph of the view that American poet Allen Ginsberg gazed upon from his own kitchen for 30 years. With this in mind, ten photographers from around the world were invited to capture and submit their own morning view, with vistas over Verona, Tokyo, London, New York, and Amsterdam offering an insight into the lives and working practices of each photographer.

Featured photographers include Cameron Alexander, Gustav Almestål, Bridget Collins, Marco Sozzaro, Paolo Di Lucente, GoItami, Julia Grassi, Benjamin McMahon and Scheltens & Abbenes. Stay tuned for more from The Gourmand at KK Outlet over the course of this month.
