Jordan has been in some of the most epic commercials in advertising history, but in our opinion, his ad for the Air Jordan 1 takes the cake. When you’re so very much the man, that all you have to do to create an effective commercial is pass the basketball between your hands and bounce it a couple times as the camera pans down over you, you win.

It helped too that the premise was true: after the release of the red and black Air Jordan colorway was released, then-NBA Commissionare David Stern banned them because they didn’t have any white on the upper. That didn’t stop MJ from wearing them anyway and just saying f*ck it to the $5,000 fine he was given every game he did. Which, it goes without saying, is supremely badass as well. Here’s to the GOAT.
