Tom Sachs: Hardcore

Sometimes seem as though everything in the world that we live in nowadays has something to do with branding, marketing, and just general consumption, hence it’s easy to understand why we chose the theme of “consumerism” for our Bailout exhibition. While over the past few years many artists have incorporated iconic brand symbols into their art such as Ron English and Zevs. Here is a look at some work from one of the pioneers of this genre of pop art, Tom Sachs, titled Hardcore this body of work includes a range of hand-made guns and weapons bearing the NASA logos. Sachs also famous for branding various extreme lethal objects like guilllotine, chainsaws, and guns with luxurious brand symbols. Take a look below.
