Off the back of its success at the Sundance Film Festival. Spike Lee’s new film, Red Hook Summer, is due for a general release this August. Going back to the famed directors independent film style the film was financed by the director himself.

The coming-of-age story follows a young boy from Atlanta who finds himself in Red Hook (a neighborhood in New York’s Brooklyn) to spend the summer with his grandfather, whom he’s never met.
