Olympic Shooting Venue by Magma Architecture
Berlin’s Magma Architecture were tapped to design the shooting range for the London 2012 Olympic Games, which will host the 10, 25, and 50 meter events. Titled “Olympic Shooting Venue,” (surprisingly), the venue is located in London’s Woolworth distirct and is made up of three mobile tents, themselves made of a double layer PVC membrane, supported by steel trusses and featuring circular protrusions throughout. The “nodes” act as ventilation points for the structures, as well as points of entry and exit for spectators. the tents will also be home to the Paralympics in September.
