1LDK, stands for 1 Living room/Dining room/kitchen. Set up by Japanese retailer Takayuki Minami, the concept, similar to that of the first Tokyo Margiela Flagship, where MMM set up shop in a suburban home, customise the home into departments for the Belgians extensive line, Minami, has kept this philosophy but taken the concept into 2008 with the objective ‘friends apartment you can shop from.’ The store is located in a small apartment in Tokyo, and plays host to the likes of Soe, John Lawrence Sullivan, Adam Kimmel and Patrik Soderstam.
