Here is an interesting fragrance label to come from New York, appropriately named ‘CB I Hate Perfume’. Founded by Christopher Brosius, who found the inspiration from his time as a taxi drive, driving back and forth over the Williamsburg Bridge with the windows down to drive the alcohol-diluted ‘designer’ stench of backseat drivers out of his tear ducts, he had plenty of time to discover that his nose was more sensitive than the noses of others.
Finding the platform where chemistry and unconventional artistry meet is a task Christopher has been beautifully executing for years. Without using alcohol as a base, the fragrances are designed to embody the full realm of a memory, idea or period in time without any distractions or absurdities, helping the patron that bears the fragrance to connect on a deeper level with the scent they’ve chosen.
Using an odor analysis technique called ‘Headspace’, Christopher is able to catch the exact scent of natural substances by molecular analyzation. When you’re smelling Burning Leaves for the first time, you’re actually smelling the exact branches, leaves and smokes that inspired the fragrance’s creation. With a collection of over 300 single note accords at his hands, he works tirelessly to blend notes together to create incredible, original scents that are based on a variety of quirky, interesting pieces of his own life and of the world around him.
Thanks to Blackbird for the info
