There were a few surprises at the Comme Des Garcons Fall/Winter show at Paris Fashion Week. Not only did Rei Kawakubo’s label showcased a wider silhouette than many of the slimmer designs we have seen from other labels recently (include her protege Junya Wanatabe), but it swapped the brand’s usual vibrant patterns for a paired down colour scheme which layers traditional fabrics and cuts with more avant garde pieces and flashes of colour for a cosy winter look.
