Showcasing both his womenswear and menswear collections over the last two days in New York Fashion week we can imagine things have been somewhat hectic for designer Richard Chai. Creating a menswear line that has a little bit of everything thrown in while keeping the overall aesthetic clean and simple takes some talent, thus being exactly what Richard Chai has achieved. The 2010 Spring/Summer collection consisted of a grungy. layered look with some stand out garments including light baggy pants similar to those of William Holden or John Garfield in the films of the late forties and early fifties, layered shorts with matching jackets, jackets with chopped off sleeves, all in the hands of a New York stylist; Eugene Tong, the collection may be the new ‘classic’ look for men.
