Jun Takahashi has unleashed the Undercoverism lookbook for Spring/Summer 2010.  Entitled “Less But Better” after the maxim of influential German industrial designer, Dieter Rams, the range is inspired by his minimal and functionalist approach.  With a European high-fashion aesthetic, that’s reminiscent of labels like Raf Simons, yet with a thoroughly Japanese feel it brings a more directional approach  to streetwear that continues to set Undercover apart from other contemporary labels.  I’m certainly looking forward to seeing more from this collection.

The Design Museum in London has just opened a brilliant exhibition of Rams’s work for both Braun and Vitsoe (the 606 Universal Shelving System is used in the new Under Cover shop to display vintage Braun and the clothing collection). It’s well worth a look to see just how innovative and influential Rams has been for the past 50 years
