The hugely talented producer and songwriter Chiilly Gonzales is featured on a new episode of “Pop Music Masterclass”, where he cuts up and breaks down Drake’s “Hold On, We’re Going Home” track. Teaming up with German radio network 1LIVE, the outlandish artist dives into the elements of the track like the ’80s pop influence in its use of vintage drum machines, and use of syncopation in adding unexpected appeal to the track. Gonzales also refers to Bethoven’s “Ode To Joy” when providing an alternative melody, while deconstructing the Majid Jordan-produced hit. It’s well worth viewing,  so take some time out of your day to watch this piece.
