New Yorkers will finally have the chance to see two Banksy masterpieces in the flesh as the Sotheby Auction takes centre stage as the contemporary art world put on a show in awarness of aids. Included in the auction, is a defaced Damien Hirst Pharmaceutical (spot) painting, tited ‘Keep It Spotless’. Expect this lot (34) to break any auction record Banksy bidders had set previously which will sell along with the second piece of a vandalized phone booth that Banksy installed on a street in the UK in 2005. Valentines Day is the day of the auction which includes many other notable artists, a real who’s who’s of contemporary artist’s. I am sure Banksey will attract bidders from high and wide as I am extremely interested to see what comes of this auction which is set for a great cause.
