Just a few days ago we showed you guys BMW’s moving sculpture which featured floating silvery balls dangling down from the ceiling to take the shape of different BMW cars. And it seems as though BMW has extended their infatuation for these silver little balls, this time for use inside a gigantic hour glass (The world’s largest actually) which counts down to the release of the latest model of the new BMW 7 series.
Based on the theme "Never stand still", BMW constructed an almost twelve metre high hourglass in front of the backdrop of St. Basil’s cathedral and the Kremlin on 6th July 2008. The new BMW 7 Series was parked in the upper half of the construction – initially concealed by over 180,000 silver balls. These gradually fell down into the lower cone and finally unveiled the new BMW 7 Series on Tuesday evening in front of 400 international guests and residents of Moscow.”
