The July issue of Juxtapoz features a tribute to the roots of the magazine and culture; hip-hop, skateboarding, and of course, fine art. Andy Howell, one of the seminal figures in bridging the gaps between hip-hop, art, and skating, as well as blurring the line between commercial and fine art, was interviewed by hip-hop producer/MC (and old friend) Lil Jon and Obey’s Shepard Fairey. The three sat down together to discuss how each other’s art careers in their various genres have come from the underground to the mainstream without compromising their initial visions. Also featured in the June issue is UK-based fine artist Lucy McLauchlan, Toronto’s Ray Caesar, Los Angeles’ Souther Salazar, and a travel feature on Melbourne, Australia. In addition there is a cover designed for the release at newstands and a special piece designed for subsribers of the mag, all in all making for another great issue.
