Two pieces of the Dunks rebirth I remember with great fondness have appeared on the Nike Dunk Chronicles, Nike’s first project with a hip hop group and one of the first and if not most inspirational pieces with a streetwear brand. The Wu Tang "Killa Bee" piece and the first Stussy project need no ontroduction although probide great stories behind them, perhaps offering some facts unheard of before making for some well worth reading so take a look at them here.

Nike Be True Chronicles
The Nike Be True Chronicles haves featured two very different yet similar Dunks for the latest story’s including the AKA Dunk Low collection and the Ura Dunk Low.
The ultra exclusive AKA Dunk collection was the creation of Allen Benedikt who is also the man behind 12 Ounze Prophet and inspired by his graffiti roots. The collection which entails seven tones Turned-On Yellow, Groovy Green, Hash Brown, Hot-Dog Mustard, Out of Site Orange, Groovy Pink and Moody Blue all inspired wet paint from a spray can hence the patent leather. With only 5 collections in production one was auctioned off for New York City’s children charity Free Arts.
The Ura Dunk was part of the Japanese exclusive dubbed the City Attack Pack which was released some nine years ago in 1999, and included four colorways. Only available in select stores in Harajuku making the sneaker a huge hit on the streets and setting a large tone for future things to come out of Japan with the Dunk.
Make sure you check out the stories on at the Nike Be True website along with the interview with AKA’s Allen Benadict.
