Shanghai’s Graffiti Situation

Juxtapoz have compiled a fascinating write up about the situation of graffiti in Shanghai, which is as rare as it comes although with the developments the country is taking it is no surprise there is a huge influx of street art.

"Also, any available space that an artist might be inclined to visually enhance, is probably already entirely cluttered with commercial signage anyway. Of course, there’s also the pesky fact that the police and the Chinese government aren’t too keen about street art. The exception to this rule is Moganshan Road, where you can hardly take a step without spotting some graff. The area around Moganshan Road is Shanghai’s art district where, luckily, the art isn’t just confined to the galleries and shops."
