We’ve mentioned it before and even shown some sneak looks at the range and details, but here is the first officially revealed image from the upcoming FW 08/09 collection, without a doubt one of the more exciting new range’s this year, mixing traditional outerwear fashion with the most technical and future designed brand around, Acronym.
"Stone Island’s Shadow project began as a discourse between Sportswear Company owner Carlo Rivetti and the design team of Michaela Sachenbacher and Errolson Hugh, also known as Acronym. A platform for exploration, the Shadow project rapidly evolved into a system based program for a new generation of urban masculine apparel.
With Stone Island’s (stoneisland.com) rich historical archive and its forward development resources as a starting point, Acronym worked on their strong technical and performance based roots. The result is a unique and unprecedented fusion of form and function. Proven functional principals from both military and active sportswear allow the individual items in the collection to work both alone and, most effectively, synergistically together. The grid itself is independent of seasonal and aesthetic change.
The grid is comprised of 4 categories and includes a total weather protection shield jacket, a vest, a light shell blazer with windstopper and a long sleeve interlock T-Shirt. The fabrics are all breathable, moisture managing and maintainable" – Sportswear International.
