2006 saw Phillip Lim’s own brand selected for a much coveted spot at New York Fashion week in just its second year. Lim was awarded the Rising Star Award for Women’s Apparel by the Fashion Group International. 3.1 Phillip Lim is renown for its minimalist and clean silhouette, his menswear following suit since 2007. 2007 also saw the creation of KID by Phillip Lim and all the designers efforts culminated in the award of the prestigious CFDA Emerging Talent in Womenswear and runner up for the Vogue/CFDA Fashion Fund Award. In a busy year, Phillip Lim also saw the opening of the brands first stand alone store on New York’s Mercer Street. Now carried on over 45 countries and in 400 stores around the world, Phillip Lim also has opened stores in Tokyo, and Seoul. All before its 5th year of operation.
Commonly regarded as one of the most talented and promising designers and brands of the current era in womenswear, his menswear is quickly following this same path with rave reviews in the press and huge success within the market place. Phillip Lim is a leader in a new era of Minimalist approach to casual fashion.
