Engineering consultants Beckett Rankine have put forward a proposal for a new floating airport on the Thame’s estuary, designed to reduce some of the stress on London’s existing airports. The £40 billion design would be situated a 40 minute tube ride away from central London and operate 24-hours a day. The plans are being seen as a favored option given they do not use up limited land space. (HUH)
