We recently had the chance to ask Gareth Young a few questions, the Man that wears many hats within one of our favorite retailers The BUREAU. This Spring/Summer, they’ve been busy putting together their lookbook and film which shows off their brilliantly curated brand list and tastes. Visit the Bureau or check out the feature below.

SLAMXHYPE / What’s your favourite thing about where you live?

Gareth Young / Cavehill (the hills to the north of Belfast) is on my doorstep.

SLAMXHYPE / Your favourite store in your city?

Gareth Young / Always been The Bureau – I grew up with it and it is an institution in this city.

SLAMXHYPE / What are three items you don’t leave home without?

Gareth Young / Wallet, keys, phone.

SLAMXHYPE / What’s your favourite holiday location?

Gareth Young / Cities and mountains – I can’t sit still for too long.

SLAMXHYPE / One place you really desire to visit?

Gareth Young / So many, but the obvious one is Tokyo.

SLAMXHYPE / What are the worst trends around today?

Gareth Young / Trolling.

SLAMXHYPE / What’s the best thing to come out in 2012?

Gareth Young / It’s always hard to look past the consistency of Engineered Garments – particularly as their S/S collections are always my favourite.

SLAMXHYPE / What was a must have item for you for SS2012?

Gareth Young / I’d a couple of weddings to go to so a new EG suit was a must buy – other than that, the printed Workaday tees and a Post O’All’s OK41 jacket.

SLAMXHYPE / What are you reading?

Gareth Young / Mark E. Smith – Renegade, again.

SLAMXHYPE / What are you listening to?

Gareth Young / Lately – Norman Nodge, Bicep, Mark E, Sean Johnston, Andy Weatherall, Space Dimension Controller, Craig Richards, Joy Orbison, EBTG, Lindstrøm & Christabelle…

SLAMXHYPE / What’s the best film you have seen in the last year?

Gareth Young / Senna, Drive.

SLAMXHYPE / Your favourite website?

Gareth Young / Ha, far too difficult to single one out. I have a lot I check daily.

SLAMXHYPE / What influences you on a daily basis?

Gareth Young / Friends, work and where would we be without the world wide web.

SLAMXHYPE / What will you do after this interview?

Gareth Young / Its Friday afternoon so I’m off for a pint or two.
