What may seem as an unexpected location in many aspects, Aesop have set up shop in Ginza an area which seems to be going through a transformation of late. Having been working on products that supplement skin, hair and body since 1987 with plant-based ingredients and non-botanical elements such as anti-oxidants a vocal point of the concept. This store, which is their second location in Japan has seen Aesop Creative Manager Hiroko Shiratori work together with Schemata Architecture. A natural aesthetic is highlighted by the balancing act of bricks and horizontal wooden boards frame the outer facade of the store. Located in the basement of the building, the rustic, dark outcome makes for a fitting feel given the natural source of the products.
