Having been involved in a number of ventures since graduating from the Royal College of Art seven years, the wait for the designers “New Object Research” is finally over. With all the talk surrounding Throup’s unique approach which extends the boundaries of conceptual design with an archetypal concept which is met with functional and technical elements derived from a fascination with the human anatomy and the evolution of his study of construction and fabrication. Facets that define the collection include an original zipper system, a unique buttonhole technology, trousers and sleeves providing an ergonomic fit for various movement of the body. The Aitor Throup “New Object Research” 2013 collection is currently available from the likes of Dover Street Market in London and Tokyo, Atelier and H.
