About Band of Outsiders

Scott Sternberg sold his first shirts to Barney’s by merely walking in off the street with a bag of samples, something surely only a successful Hollywood Agent could pull off. With no formal design training, Sternberg has used his eye and passion for American Menswear to create one of the most talked about brands today. In 2007, Band of Outsiders also launched its first sub-brand, Boy by Band of Outsiders, the womenswear label simply took its mould from the ever growing and successful menswear label, by reinventing classic menswear for women, using the same fabrics and tailoring. Both brands are expertly produced and handmade at 100-year-old tailoring company Martin Greenfield Clothiers, in Brooklyn, New York, ensuring the quality matches the design and philosophy. Sternberg was awarded the emerging talent in menswear award at 2008’s CFDA ceremony. Band of Outsiders now sells in over 65 boutiques around the world.
