Despite being one of the smallest countries in Europe, Belgium is a veritable hotbed of modern design talent. Producing such forward thinking designers as Ann Demeulemeester, Dirk Bikkembergs, Dries van Noten, Raf Simons and Martin Margiela, its also the birthplace of Kris Van Assche.
Although now heading up Dior Homme, he still makes time for his own eponymous label which like fellow Belgian Raf Simons follows a minimal and monochrome aesthetic that’s true to his modernist roots in Antwerp as well ahis mentor Hedi Slimane. Kris Van Assche have just released their accessory and footwear collection for Spring/Summer 2010 featuring messenger and duffle bags plus aesymetrical side lace high tops, roman sandal/sneaker hybrid and some highly impressive desert and hiker boots… all in stunning black and white colourways, of course.
Soon to be available from The Corner, where you can also get the rest of his Sprng/Summer collection as can be seen in the video of his runway show below.
Thanks To Selectism for the heads up.
