After a month or so of speculation, Oakley and Jeff Staple unveiled their collaborative collection at a special launch event at the Reed Space in New York City recently and now we would like to present you with a look at what transpired. The collection consists of six pieces: the Eyeshade, Razorblade, Frogskins, Radar, Jawbone and the Holbrook with each style being selected to illustrate the history of Oakley. The pairing of the retro and contemporary pieces do an amazing job of highlighting Oakley’s progression over their 35 year history and more importantly, they capture the essence of Oakley’s sport heritage.

In addition to the release of the collaboration — only the Eyeshade and Radar are available with the other 4 pieces to drop over the next two months — a mini-museum was constructed to showcase some of Oakley’s iconic 80s and 90s advertisements as well as a few highly detailed production sketches. DJ Just Blaze was also in the house adding to intense heat already in effect from the extremely humid weather. The Reed Space went from retail outlet, to museum, to sauna all within a matter of minutes, but thankfully people were able to tolerate it and enjoy the evening regardless.
