We recently showed you a preview of the latest collaboration between Sebago and French design agency La MJC, The Fairhaven, and now we can show you a more detailed view.

The Fairhaven was originally released in 1980 and La MJC’s treatment sees them add contrasting black panels with white stitching and a white leather heel tab to the chunky boot like shape that offers a more robust and urban look.

Founded in 2001 by Michael Dupouy and Julien Cahn La MJC was one of the first marketing and communications agencies in Europe to specialise in urban youth culture and using the internet to help brand interact with their audience, they have worked with everyone from Colette and Stussy to Nokia and Coca Cola.

I’m amazed the deck shoe revival has lasted so long, its undeniably a hugely versatile piece of footwear, but by the end of this summer they were everywhere – from the feet of teenagers to middle aged dads and beyond, even now as I walk around London I still see some fool hardy young gentlemen rocking the boat shoe, no socks and cuffed trousers look, despite already being in the depths of winter.

The Sebago X La MJC Fairhaven is available from the colette and also in the Cool Cats online store now.
