Converse Japan’s Love Letter To The Chuck Taylor All-Star

Converse Japan has taken inspiration from old school envelopes to develop its new ‘Tegami’ pack for Summer 2014. Although in theory the new sneaker is an iteration of the Chuck Taylor All-Star, it doesn’t appear like the original with its turned down ankle and black/white tonal colorways. Branding is presented in bright red, as is the collar’s unique button-strong closure.”Tegami” means “letter” in Japanese, which is fitting, since you’ll have to get your friend to mail these to you from Tokyo – they’re only available in Japan.

We are definitely getting our friend’s overseas to mail us a pair of these exclusive kicks! Despite their rather large differences in appearance, we actually kind of like the “envelope/letter” theme! Such a different twist on a classic shoe!
