Highly regarded photographer Estevan Oriol is in the process of taking H&M and Brandy Melville to court due to copyright issues. Having used the iconic “LA Hands” of Oriol, the premise of the lawsuit outlines that both H&M and Brandy Melville utilized his protected work to create “a derivative and substantially similar image that is used on one or more of H&M and Brandy Melville’s T-Shirts – items that have been sold and continue to be sold in their respective retail stores worldwide,” according to a press release. The latest in a series of high profile court cases of late it will be interesting to see what the verdict is.
