While it’s been Lanvin and Pierre Hardy who have received most of the attention around the current luxury sneaker trend, I’ve personally been a fan of Balenciaga’s contribution to the mix for the past few seasons, this coming season being no exception. Nicolas Ghesquière has turned the french luxury brand into a force to be reckoned with since his takover at the helm in 1997, and continues to do so with menswear not being left aside. The past few seasons have seen Balenciagas sneakers kept to mainly monotone colour sets, this year things are changed up a little, with a mixure of materials also playing a role.
