With luxury brands such as Lanvin and Quai De Valmy having already tentatively  released pieces from their Fall/Winter Collections, French house Balmain have been the latest to follow the trend.  Featuring two Nylon outerwear pieces, Balmain have opted for more functional yet highly detailed pieces than their counterparts.

Featuring the statement:

“We take basic pieces, even classic, we mix them, we deform them, we mistreat them and we obtain the new Balmain collection”

It may be suggested therefore that in times of widening financial hardship Balmain is focused on creating utility products in balance to complete luxury.

Whatever the objective, such pieces create huge excitement around the forthcoming collection, even if consumers may have to wait for another couple of months to see it truly come to fruition.
