LN-CC first put Blackmeans on our radar, now they help us find out more with this video. The Japanese label was formed in 2008, heavily influenced by the various punk movements of the twentieth century: from early 70s UK punk, to the crust-punk scene of Japan in the early 90s. Utilising the experience of Japan’s finest leather craftsmen, the brand takes historic, ethnic cloth-cutting techniques, and reinterprets them in an innovative way that puts them at the forefront of the ‘New Tokyo’ movement. In this short video, Director Yujiro Komatsu discusses some of his highlights from the Fall/Winter 2011 collection.
