Dior Homme Fall/Winter 2010 Collection
Today at Paris Fashion Week saw the debut of the new Fall/Winter collection from Dior Homme. Kris Van Assche’s tenure at Dior Homme has significantly divided critics, his predecessor Hedi Slimane rejuvenated the label by injecting a dose of rock’n'roll danger and glamour with a skinny indie rock silhouette that has influenced mainstream fashion throughout the noughties. Whilst Van Assche hasn’t strayed far from the template set by Slimane, its never really set the world on fire in the same way. This season sees him continue the minimal monochromatic look adding a slightly more formal and refined feel to the collection and a slightly warmer oatmeal tone to the white, gray and black. Its a perfectly serviceable collection, but perhaps slightly dull and. at times, verging back towards the middle aged businessman which Slimane so deftly steered them away from.
