DYSFASHIONAL 2009 Paris/Berlin

Two fashion capitals, Paris and Berlin, have combined together for a celebration of fashion which explores the wide range of materials and philosophies that turn our fashion into a means of self-expression and self-experience. With the biggest names in fashion involved such as Hussein Chalayan, Maison Martin Margiela, Gaspard Yurkievich, Raf Simons, Pierre Hardy + Damien Blottiere, Bernhard Willhelm + Christophe Hamaide-Pierson, Kostas Murkudis and Bless, the exhibition is transformed into a construction site which all takes place at the Passage du Désir in Paris in 2009 and at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin in 2010.
‘The idea is to inverse the principles and to invite fashion designers to present installations which reflect their imagination and creative universe, rather than their collections. Through these environments, objects and films, a multi-layered horizon is constructed, whereby fashion appears beyond its constitutive material objects, as a field for experimentation or a state of sensibility in the making’. -Extract from passagedudesir.com
