Nike Sportswear presents MORE THAN THE BEAT – Awakening Tokyo Running
Nike Sportswear introduced a first with this one night experience to Tokyo city on September 2nd 2010. The idea was the event was to bring the real Tokyo running style by connecting street culture and running through the core athletes, namely, 400m Olympic medalist Dai Tamesue, Undercover’s Jun Takashi and DJ’s DEXPISTOLS.
The event showcases Nike Sportswear’s concept of Game Changers with: “MORE THAN THE BEAT – Awakening Tokyo Running.” Collaborating with DOMMUNE, the webcast live music platform, NIKE created the own customized show from 19:00 to midnight.
At 7pm event participants experience Tokyo night run in core area of the city. Running kicked off from Nike Tokyo Flagship store (Nike Harajuku) to Dommune club space. People then watched to join the athlete guest talk (1st session 1900-2100) which the topics was about the deep side of the running. At the second half of the show, theme was ‘live music X midnight tokyo run’. DEXPISTOLS played the music while the real running scence was held around the studio and broadcast on the Dommune webstie.
