Robert Geller Spring/Summer collection garnered much praise after its runway introduction back in September, and we are finally starting to see its global release. The collection holistically represents a very strong direction for Geller and with its rich hues and beautifully constructed garments I can see why it received such strong reviews. The standout piece for me would have to be the zippered trench coat as its take on a classic pushes the trench coat years ahead of where it has been. Short notched lapels and an embellished body show that a trench coat cleans up well when done properly even though I wonder if this now becomes a “Mac” coat or chesterfield. Call it what you want the piece is perfection. Blackbird is one of a few retailers who have taken stock in the piece.
