London’s premium sneaker boutique, Footpatrol have teamed up with Classic Material for a second time, this time round with acclaimed UK street style artist, Normski. The project has manifested itself into a collection of limited edition t-shirts bearing Normski’s original photographic artwork. With the likes of De La Soul, Ice Cube, Guru, Dr. Dre and Eric B in black & white portraits, the collection essentially captures the essence of hip hop culture from the late 80’s and early 90’s. Over the last three years Classic Material, a project founded by UK DJ/recording artist Chris Read and DJ/promoter Nick Armitage, have been celebrating 30+ years of recorded rap music through a series of exhibitions and limited edition products paying tribute to the genre’s most defining moments. From the 16th-18th of August, a pop up store on 75 Berwick Street in London will showcase the project including a release event on the night of the 15th, including signings from Normski and music provided by DJs Mr Thing (BBE Records) & Matman (DMC Champ) plus Chris Read and Nick Armitage. The full range of limited edition t-shirts are set to release at the Footpatrol store and on their online shop on the 16th of August.
