Having designed the final ‘Moncler V’ collection for last season, Visvim founder Hiroki Nakamura has passed the baton to British designer Christopher Raeburn, known for his innovative recycling and repurposing of vintage military fabrics. The resulting Moncler ‘R’ AW12 collection fuses Raeburn’s directional military aesthetic with Moncler’s unsurpassed expertise in creating cold-weather outdoor clothing.

Raeburn’s trademark affinity with technical fabrics has resulted in several ground-breaking combinations of materials, with technical wools and closed-knit cottons adding an exceptional level of functional cohesion to the collection. The colours that run through the collection are based around the archetypal outdoor military palette, with olive green, khaki, white and black at its core, with contrasting hints of sky-blue adding a natural lightness.

Moncler R has managed the seeming impossible and taken up exactly where the ‘V’ range left off, elevating classic Moncler silhouettes with the use of pioneering, modern processes, cuts and fabrics.

The collection is available now from end clothing.
