Here is a look at Proper’s latest collaborative venture with Vans. I enjoy these items immensely and felt compelled to post them. One of my all time favorite shoes has to be the Vans Authentic. Its simple silhouette and nice price points have always been alluring to me, so seeing this one-piece version is something really interesting as it is an unexpected twist to this classic; and another plus to this particular shoe: the red colorway! In addition to the Authentic style, we also see an impressive Chukka Zapato del Barco. The Zapato del Barco really killed it for Vans as they really flew off of shelves and for good reason. Their classic boat shoe styling comprising of canvas was great, but this Chukka version with its tumbled leather and clean silhouette makes for a winning combination.
The Native American also gets in on the action, but this time around, it is dubbed the “Long Beach Native.” Like with all the aforementioned styles, it comes in two different colorways, one being a vivid blue and a heather gray colorway. I really have my eye on the gray as it looks so clean against the white cap-toe of the shoe.
I really am into all of these styles and I think they do a great job of highlighting Proper’s design ingenuity. Subtle detailing, clean colorways, and nice packaging all adds up for a great product from the Long Beach based shop.
