Red Wing Shoes have released this impressive rendition of the 9027 11″ Engineer ‘Rugged’ Driftwood. The limited series is inspired by the beauty of old, worn-in Engineer boots. Every single pair was treated by hand as a tribute to Red Wing shoes from the early 20th century. This treatment gives both the Driftwood leather and the Tred Traction crepe sole a vintage appearance. Due to the natural qualities of the leather, each shoe reacted differently to the treatment. As a result every shoe has a unique color and rugged look. The Engineer boot was originally designed for railroad engineers, as a protective measure against the hard labor that was their work. The 9027 11″ Engineer ‘Rugged’ Driftwood was produced in a limited quantity of 150 pairs.
