The much beloved Japanese clothing chain Uniqlo, will be opening its first West Coast store in San Francisco this Fall 2012. Up until now all three of their U.S. stores have been in NYC including their massive 89,000 square foot Fifth Avenue flagship. According to their U.S. Chief Executive Shin Odake they are also seeking real estate in Philadelphia, Boston, Chicago, Washington, and other major cities. This is great news for those of us in the U.S. who love their basics. Uniqlo will be replacing DSW Shoe Warehouse which is situated at 111 Powell Street. Thanks to WSJ for the info.
