Yesterday, Comme des Garcons presented the GANRYU Fall/Winter 2014 Collection with a small but impressive show in Tokyo. The Japanese designer, who once served as Junya Watanabe’s pattern maker, is really coming into his own of late, and this collection exhibits extreme growth from the talented designer. Garments like the the tailored bomber jacket and down coats are backed up with quality shirting and simple knitwear, and by bringing together an almost 1990′s streetwear aesthetic and tailoring it in an avant-garde manner, Ganryu truly does sets the standard.
