Continuing to celebrate the 40th anniversary of HK retailer Joyce Diane Pernet‘s interview series pushes forward with a wonderful piece with Rick Owens. I don’t think there we’ll ever see a time in which Rick’s aesthetics will ever fall out of grace with us at SLAMXHYPE. His garments represent a train of thought for menswear that is simplicity at its core despite what many may feel the gloomy emotion of his collections may suggest. Diane’s piece captures the designer in a candid conversation with a friend making for a great dialog in which he speaks about his start as a designer, his perceived future and his brands growth to date. I for one really enjoy pieces of this nature as it presents the leaders in progressive fashion today as human and not the larger then life icons they would seemingly be.
