For Autumn/Winter 2013, British designer Martine Rose teamed up with Bates for an interpretation on their rugged military footwear – a selection of which was presented during the designer’s recent London show. Showing her collection in a unique manner at Convent Garden’s Hospital Cub, Rose explains backstage that it is all about function. The collection itself – complete with the inclusion of Bates Military Footwear – has a very punk aesthetic as well as drawing influence from Jamaican dancehall culture.
