Berlin-based eyewear brand MYKITA visit the volcanic island of Lanzarote in the Atlantic Ocean to capture its psychedelic SS14 campaign, shot by New York artist and photographer Mark Borthwick. While the collection itself has a timeless feel, Borthwick’s images of the environment lend an otherworldly feel to the campaign. Weird rock formations and alien-like plantation add to the overall cult-like vibe. The campaign was shot on an analog Leica camera without additional artificial light, with the prism-like color effects caused by the exposure of the film reel – a nice reminder of Borthwick’s warm, spontaneous style. Check out the images above, and head over here to cop any frames in the SS14 collection.
