If you haven’t heard of New Zealand skate brand ABC, it’s probably time to get on board. The brand has been adorning NZ’s finest since ’98 with a no-frills approach, but a slight re-branding in 2012 has seen a rejuvenated focus on cut-and-sew and a more upfront streetwear aesthetic emerge. Re-packaged as ABC MMXII, the new designs take cues from classic sportswear and workwear cuts, still styled for the streets as much as they are your local skate park. Key pieces for FW14 (this is the Southern Hemisphere) are the Grandslam LS Polo’s, Superbowl Jersey, cuffed Sneaker Pant in a cotton / spandex blend, and the Coaches Drill & Anotrack pullover jacket. The best thing about opposite seasons is you can cop garms like these half a fashion-year in advance – and they’re light enough to pull off in Summer too.
